Guest Speaker: Dr. Brad O'Connor, Florida Realtors® Chief Economist of Research

Brad O’Connor, Ph.D. is the Chief Economist for Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest trade association. 

As the head of the research department at Florida Realtors®, he oversees the production of the association’s widely-cited monthly housing market statistics, as well as numerous other economic and statistical research projects. 

His commentary on Florida’s real estate markets regularly appears in major daily newspapers around the state and has been featured in many national publications, including The Wall Street Journal and Washington Post.

Dr. O’Connor received his bachelor’s degree in economics from The Ohio State University, and earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in economics from Florida State University, where his academic research chiefly involved the impacts of land use regulations on housing markets.  

Before joining Florida Realtors®, Dr. O’Connor served as an economic and statistical consultant for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando.
