What’s one way to stand out among a sea of Realtors? By being the market expert, of course! Learn how to use data only available to Florida Realtors members in your day-to-day business to win the confidence of your clients.
In this course, you will learn basic statistics concepts in the context of residential real estate and how to draw conclusions about the market.
Using the latest tool, SunStats, you will also learn how to make your own custom charts and infographics to share your market knowledge and engage your clients.
Objectives - After taking this class, students will be able to:
- Understand how and when to use mean and median, how to calculate, and how to draw conclusions about real estate markets
- Know the “Big Three” metrics that define real estate markets, where the data comes from and how to apply them
- Communicate what market metrics mean and how to discuss ways that market conditions impact clients
- Identify why real estate data is affected by location, time frame, and price point
- Explain how graphically analyzing market metrics demonstrates trends and shifts in real estate market segments and how to create graphs, charts, and infographics
INSTRUCTOR: Jennifer Warner
Jennifer Warner has an extensive background in environmental science and policy, urban planning, real estate development, portfolio strategy, and economic development honed over the course of her 15+ year career. Most of her time has been spent in the public sector, working for the Orange County Environmental Protection Agency, the Boston Redevelopment Authority, and the City of Los Altos, as well as a consultant for cities throughout the country. Additionally, she spent over six years as an instructor for Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, as well as servicing students through her own private tutoring firm, which she owned and managed. Ms. Warner holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida and an M.A. in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy from Tufts University.
Ms. Warner is an Economist and the Director of Economic Development for Florida Realtors®, the nation’s largest state Realtors® association with about 225,000 members. In this role, she oversees numerous economic and statistical research projects, as well as providing members with key information on pertinent economic development topics such as opportunity zones and land use.
