Florida REALTORS® CE Express course "Your Safety as A Realtor, Choosing the Right Self Defense Tool" is being offered in person and is approved for 2-hour Specialty CE Credit.

The mere nature of the real estate business puts agents at risk on a daily basis making Real Estate professionals a prime target for criminals.

It may be time for you to develop your own Personal Safety Program.

Take this course and learn ways to decide which self-defense tool you should choose.

Objectives: After taking this class students will be able to:

  • Be able to develop a personal safety plan
  • Know the difference between nonlethal vs lethal weapons
  • Understand the reasons why realtors choose to carry a concealed weapon
  • Know the nomenclature of both pistol types (revolver/semi-automatic)
  • Know the fundamentals of a proper grip technique for a firearm
  • Understand the universal Gun Owner’s Responsibilities
  • Learn the legal aspects of gun ownership to include CWL and transporting in vehicles in the State of Florida
  • Know what the law says about carrying a Firearm during showings or while doing an open house
  • Have a better understanding of how to survive an active shooter incident

Instructor

Patricia Sherman is an active broker sales associate for Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty in Fleming Island, Florida. A multi-million-dollar producer and a member of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors® since 1994, it has only been in the last few years that her love of teaching has come over to real estate.

After retiring from the United States Navy, where Patricia worked as an Air Traffic Controller for almost 22 years, she decided to try something different!

Patricia holds an associate in arts degree; has her broker’s license, and Florida real estate instructor’s license, and earned the following designations and certificates: CRS, MRP, ABR, RENE, SRS, SRES, GRI, GREEN, C2EX, AHWD, PSA, FMS, CSP, CSA, LMC, SFR, BPOR, e-Pro.

Patricia was awarded the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors® ‘Educator of the Year’ in 2005, 2010, and 2013 Awards. She also instructs for the American Heart Association’s CPR, BLS, and First Aid courses.

Her philosophy is “To enjoy every day, use humor as often as I can, to SMILE, and live life to its fullest!” Patricia is married to the “Love of her life” and has been for over 41 years! She has 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, 2 dogs, and 3 parrots.
